What is KungFuMadness?
KFM is a webgame, created by Jesse Stopple. The version you are currently using is 2.0. KungFuMadness was twice slain by server problems, meaning the game you see today is the third rendition. You may say to yourself "Hey, if it's the third rendition, why isn't this KFM3.0??" Well let me set you straight: The second time I built the game was a simple remake of the classic. This version is all new, incorporating character customization and inventory management. While KFM1's simplicity had a huge following, I hope the new version will appease the veterans of old.

How do I play?
The core of the game is combat. The first step is to click View / Enter Arena, and look for someone around your level to throw down with. If you are reading this, I'm going to assume you are a white belt. This means you should only challenge white or yellow belts (yellow belt is the next rank after white), as you have the best chance of winning against them. If you can't find a white or yellow belt, click the Enter Arena link on that screen, and put yourself up on the block. Pretty soon someone will challenge you. It would be wise to check the Current Battles screen often, as active combat will appear there.

Ok.. How do I fight?
Once you have combat started, and are looking at the Current Battles screen, you should see a list of fights that are waiting for your input at the top of the page. You have a time limit to enter your combat moves which is displayed in seconds on the far right of the row. Click the time to be taken to the Combat Entry screen.

Inside the combat entry screen you have a few things you need to worry about. The most important are 1) what attack you perform, and 2) what stance you are using. Select one of each and click the submit button. You should be taken back to the Current Battles screen, with a new row appearing somewhere highlighted in green. This signifies the system has accepted your moves, and is now letting you know which combat you just submitted.

If the green row appears at the top, it means your opponent has also entered their moves and it is ready for the next round. You can click the round number to see the details of what has transpired. If the row appears in the middle of the screen, the system is still waiting for your opponent to enter his/her moves.

When your opponent has entered their moves, the nav item "Current Battles" will appear highlighted in green, which indicates it's your turn to act. Repeat the process until one of you is defeated. When the fight is over, the row will appear at the bottom of the screen, and will summarize any XP or gold you have earned while fighting.

Combat is over.. now what?
If you fought well, you earned experience points. If not, try a new fight. There is no penalty for losing, and persistence is rewarded. Once you have earned some experience, click the Power Up link on the nav. On this screen you will see all the different ways you can upgrade your character as well as some descriptions as what each method does. You should start with Upgrade Attributes to make yourself a little tougher.

What's the deal with Dojo's?
Dojos are a group of up to 10 players that fight as a team. When a member of a dojo fights a member of a rival dojo, the system will keep track of which dojo wins, and update the stats for that dojo. Dojos will be ranked on a points sytem based on their win / loss records. Eventually dojo's will have browsable situational stats vs their rivals, once more data has been accumulated.

What's the deal with Divine Favor?
Divine Favor is basically how much the Gods like you. (The gods being.. the makers of the game ;) You can gain divine favor 2 ways. The first way is to refer a friend to the game, and have them achieve a ranking of Black Belt. The second way is to donate cash to the game through PayPal.

Divine favor currently has 2 uses. The first use is to gain a Combat Blessing during the first round of combat. Combat Blessings work the same way an item does, but only lasts for one fight. The second use is to gain a Gold Blessing, which will increase your exp and gold gains for 30 days.
